Re-United Now-Here is an umbrella concept to host a variety of Inga’s current artistic activities, including conceptual & visual art, directing & film, choreography & dance, teaching, etc. The aim is to create an Amsterdam–based, nomadic collaborative artistic initiative to work on site-specific projects  – a platform to collaborate together with local and international artists and dancers, including members of the general public. The main idea is that she invites the artists, dancers and choreographers to join her to create a collaborative project for the specific site and/or context. It’s a platform for collaboration, exchange of knowledge and skills, sharing the visions and inspirations to create new works and present it to the public performing live in mostly self-organised (non-institutional) context as well as hold movement workshops, seminars.

May 6th (Monday) 8 p.m. there will be the first presentation as a part of the Re-United Now-Here project introducing  a special guest Alessandro Pintus (Rome). A live performance “Live Animals” by Sakura and Alessandro Pintus at the Book Store, followed by drinks, some video screenings and the artists talk.

May 14th (Tuesday) 8 p.m. there will a live a performance by Sakurako, followed by drinks, some video screenings and the artist talk as an official introduction of AIR program and the Re-United Now-Here project, workshops, etc.

In Bosleeuw midden is er een nieuwe tijdelijke resident. De Litouwse kunstenares Inga Cholmogorova zal drie maanden in THE LIGHTHOUSE verblijven en vanuit het Japanse concept als butoh dancer workshops geven onder alias Sakurako. Tijdens haar presentatie zal ze met workshop elementen een demonstratie geven.

Michal Avraham, Israel 1982, studeerde aan de Bezalel Academy for Arts and Design in Jeruzalem. Sinds kort is zij deelnemer bij THE BOOKSTORE.

In haar studio aan de Cruquiusweg ( KRUX ),ontwikkelt ze vanuit nieuwe en simpele materialen uit haar omgeving nieuwe producten. Deze avond zal ze haar nieuwste project ‘’SHELLS’’ presenteren, een product dat ze maakt uit fijngemalen eier schalen.

In Bosleeuw midden werkt THE BOOKSTORE FOUNDATION ism stadsdeel west mee aan het opschonen en opknappen van de Hofwijcktuinen.

Op 26 april zal het groen van de hofjes onderhouden worden door de leerlingen van het Wellant College Aalsmeer. Het Wellant heeft verschillende opleidingen voor beroepen in het groen. De leerlingen die in de Hofwijcktuinen aan de slag gaan volgen een hoveniers opleiding.  Zij zullen de hele dag komen helpen met de snoei en plant werkzaamheden in de hofjes.

BOOKSTORE neemt deel aan het fresh in de les programma van het stadsdeel en verzorgt elke donderdag een gratis gezonde lunch.
Dit is alweer de laatste fresh in de les lunch! Kom nog een keer lekker een gezonde boterham halen met gratis advies van de voedings deskundige Brigit Eckmann.

Kom naar het ‘Swop until you drop’ lente feest van The Novel en vind iets moois. Neen ten minste 5 artikelen (kleding schoenen, tassen enz. ) in goede staat mee en ga naar huis met wat nieuwe outfits voor je lente en zomer collectie! Wie het eerst komt wie het eerst maalt. Koffie, tee en heerlijke koekjes worden verzorgt door Dikke Lepel.

Op 29 maart gaf Simone Niquille een lezing over het gezicht als ons machtigste communicatiemiddel. Met functionaliteit als leidraad laat Simone Niquille in haar project ‘FaceValue’ zien het gezicht zich aanpast aan zijn context, door het toevoegen van nieuwe lagen (zij noemt hier bijvoorbeeld HD-makeup en de facetime-facelift) en laat zien hoe deze aanpassing buiten hun functionele context een vervreemdend beeld kan opleveren.

In de lezing van Leanne wordt duidelijk hoe het ontwerpen van geur het instinct ons kan (ver)leiden. Kan ons instinct de werkelijkheid nog vertrouwen of wordt de aantrekkingskracht tot de artificiële simulatie sterker? In de expositie is een deel van haar project ‘Re↺fresh’, haar gescande online tuin in ware grootte, te bezichtigen.

Discussies vinden plaats over het werk van de deelnemers en de positie en mogelijkheden buiten het kader van traditioneel grafisch ontwerp worden belicht.

“I train the body/mind every day so the spirit can freely manifest in everything I do would it be training and exercising, dancing, creating an artwork or doing any daily routine activity. I can only teach what I practice and I practice what I teach or in other words I play like I live and I live like I play”, – says Sakurako, who does not believe in borders and separation. Art is art and life is life and yet art is life and life is art, those two are inseparable just as body and mind, which is a constantly interchanging phenomenon.
