
Amber-Helena Reisig (Heerlen, 1992) is a writer and poet with the publisher Prometheus. She lives and works in Amsterdam, and performs throughout the country with her prose and poetry, sometimes in combination with music. She has appeared at “Dichters in de Prinsentuin”, “De Parade”, “De Nacht van Kunst en Wetenschap” and at “Museumnacht Amsterdam”.
She also regularly takes part in slam events in both the Netherlands and Belgium, and is presenter and organiser of such literary events as her own literary podium Ver’Skek, every first Sunday of the month at ‘Skek in Amsterdam. Her work has appeared in “Zwart Goud”, “Meander Magazine”, “Zuiderlicht”, “Pomgedichten” and “De Optimist”, and has formed part of the anthology “Alles staat nog op zijn plaats”, published by Contrabas, the bundle “Oog in oog”, the anthlogy “Perron Poëzie” and the project “No Smoking Machine” from Literair Station Venlo. She wrote and performed a poem live for KRO Hemelbestormers, which was also bundled on paper and on CD. She has twice won, in 2007 and 2009, the provincial round of the writing competition Write Now!, and in 2009 achieved a top three place in the Dutch/Flemish final. The magazine Viva nominated her in the category “creative” for Viva400, a shortlist of the most successful women in the Netherlands. At the beginning of this year, she signed two contracts with the publisher Prometheus. Her debut novel “Het Sterfhuis” will appear later this year, and her poetry collection with working title “Huidherinneringen” will appear at the beginning on 2013. Both are to be found in the better bookshops.
